Nancy Achberger, Artist
Nancy’s oil paintings are painted in a loose impressionistic style. Most of her landscapes are captured "en plein air", outside in the open air on location. Although she paints all subjects, she especially likes to paint landscapes and iconic landmarks in the Cincinnati tri-state area. She enjoys teaching and learning from other artists and has organized many plein-air painting events. Nancy believes that painting and studying how light and color change outside helps to develop a better studio practice. Nancy earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design and has had a varied art career. Nancy has received numerous awards for her landscape and human figurative paintings. Nancy currently maintains a studio at Albert Art Collective in Milford, Ohio. She has been teaching for over ten years in oils, watercolor, and drawing. She has served as president of the Cincinnati Brush & Palette Painters (2014-2026) and is a signature member in the Cincinnati Art Club and the Women’s Art Club of Cincinnati.
Artist Statement
“Through changing light and atmospheric conditions, I enjoy the challenge and the energy created from painting En Plein Air. I love the drama and spontaneity that painting outside brings to my art. There is a sense of emotion and freshness that cannot be found in the studio.”
